Thirty-six years ago, Steven Papadatos founded SPA. He is licensed as an architect in fourteen states, and NCARB certified. He lectured on topics of architecture, interior design and management at several universities and colleges.
SPA's Manager Partner, Steven Papadatos takes a hands-on approach in the firm's overall operations, and is in constant contact with the firm's clients.
After the World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993, Steven Papadatos was appointed to the World Trade Center Fact-Finding Committee to study the effects of the bombing for the purpose of upgrading the New York City Building Code. The mission was to review new requirements, which may be needed to prevent the incapacitation of entire high-rise office buildings from a single event. Secondly, a comprehensive review of the Building Code was undertaken particularly in the fire safety areas.
From 1991 to 1997, Steven Papadatos authored a monthly column, "Design for Success" in the New York Construction News a McGraw Hill Publication. He has written in-depth articles covering "The Next 25 Years", "Prediction", Engineers Ideas can help Shape Future Architecture", "NAFTA Offers Opportunities" and many other articles on restorations, new construction and interior planning which have been read throughout the United States, Several of Steven Papadatos' articles have been reprinted in major foreign architectural, interior design magazines, and newspapers.
Peter T. Papadatos, Architect, Partner
Peter Papadatos is a licensed architect in New York State and NCARB certified. He is responsible for the firm's International projects since 1994, and is presently managing several projects in Moscow. Several of the Moscow based projects have received architectural awards for innovation and excellence in design.
In addition, Peter Papadatos has been involved with several significant projects in New York, including the renovation of 136 Madison Avenue for GVA Williams Real Estate, Renovation at 17 State Street for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association and the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels Catwalk Shelter Booths.
Peter Papadatos a partner in SPA, resides in Switzerland where he directs the International projects, via the Moscow Office.
He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from N.Y. Institute of Technology in 1989.
Prior to joining SPA in 1979, Sophia Gatanas majored in Political Science with a minor in Psychology at Queens College. At SPA she is responsible for the management of the firm, public relations and business development.
Pierre E. Guariglia, Architect, Senior Associate
Since joining SPA in 1996, Pierre has been an integral cog in the SPA machinery. His involvement on multiple projects for clients such as FedEx, The Port Authority of NY&NJ and GVA Williams has invariable helped on all aspects of the work.
More recently, Mr. Guariglia has participated on several Ecclesiastical projects. As the Project Architect on the Pihos Cultural Center, adjacent to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, he was intimately involved with all elements of the design and construction process. The result is an Award winning design that has recalibrated the standard for Community/Cultural Center design.
Currently most of his time is occupied with the new Synodical and Cultural Center in Tirana, Albania, which is currently under construction. This project is situated on a site that is over one acre large and being fully developed both below and above grade. The parcel of land is centered in the heart of Albania’s capital and requires periodic visits for site inspections.
Prior to joining SPA, Pierre E. Guariglia was extensively involved with hotel renovations, restoration of historic buildings and school projects at his previous firm.
Pierre Guariglia is a senior associate at SPA. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1992 and is also the recipient of a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Hartford. He is licensed as an Architect in New York and is currently the President-Elect for 2006 for the Society of American Registered Architects, New York Council.
Ignacio Carrera Junco, Director CAD Management, Senior Associate
Prior to joining SPA in 2000 Ignacio Carrera Junco was extensively involved with 3d Modeling/Animation, Graphic & Web Design Projects at his previous firm.
At SPA, He's in charge of the CAD Management, Graphic Design, Multimedia Presentations and Computer/Networking Support and Development.
Ignacio has participated in major projects of SPA. The Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana, Albania; Holy Trinity Church, South Carolina; St. Demetrios Complex, Warren, Ohio; Sephardic Jewish Congregation and Center, New York; James W. Pihos Cultural Center at the Annunciation, Milwaukee; Office Building Renovation at 19 West 23rd St. New York, N.Y.; Autumn Terrace Residence, Alpine, N.J.; Fedex 148 Leroy St. Facility, N.Y.
Ignacio Carrera received his Bachelor Degree in Havana, Cuba in 1990Saverio "Reno" Crea, Architect
Reno Crea is licensed in five states and certified by NCARB. Since joining the firm in 1979, he has headed a variety of projects as a senior associate. His background experience includes several Port Authority of NY & NJ projects with renovations at JFK and Newark Airports.
His experience includes design of hospitals and healthcare facilities.
He is a 1955 graduate of Italy's Institute of Architecture, and attended Pratt Institute and Cooper Union.
While with Papadatos Partnership LLP, Anthony was working on projects such as the Renovation of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral, the FedEx Corporation, Parson-Meares Ltd. and several ecclesiastical projects.
Currently Anthony Delimitros is leading the project team for 40 West 23rd Street Renovations. Anthony is also assisting in the Master Plan of a Greek Orthodox Community.
Anthony received his Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 2005.

The firm of Papadatos Partnership was founded in 1969, specializing in architecture, interior design and planning.
Its undisputed reputation, for excellence in architecture and interior design was established early on in the 1970s when the renovation of a Texaco Service station located in Greenwich, Connecticut, received First Place honors in a National Design Competition, and appeared as a feature cover story in the March 1973 AIA Journal. Papadatos Partnership is recognized for their innovative projects to date with 31 awards for excellence in design. Two of their projects have been recognized as Architectural Landmarks.
The firm has been responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of significant projects throughout the United States, Greece, Russia and Venezuela.
During the firm's 35 years of continued growth, Papadatos Partnership has designed projects which range from new construction, interior design, additions, renovations and significant restoration projects. The important ingredient for the firm's success is that each project, small/large is approached with the same professionalism, and service to the client is never compromised.
